“The Oostvaarderskliniek is a forensic psychiatric center (FPC) in Almere. Oostvaarderskliniek's mission is to contribute to a safe society. We work with people with psychological problems who have committed crimes. Treatment is aimed at reducing the risk factors that have led to aggressive and unsafe behavior. We provide care, guidance and supervision, in cooperation with our chain partners. In this we constantly seek the balance between treatment and security.
We see our patients and clients first of all as people. People with baggage, who, partly due to their disposition and life history, have come into contact with the justice system. We give our patients and clients the opportunity to work towards responsible resocialization. Our treatment lasts as short as possible and as long as necessary. At the same time, we realize that it is not possible for everyone to fully resocialize. In that case, we look for an appropriate follow-up facility, with attention to quality of life.
At the Oostvaarderskliniek we are committed to an inspiring working environment, healthy operations and good cooperation. The Oostvaarderskliniek offers internships and training places for various courses. We also encourage employees to continue to develop themselves.”
